Free Projects for Kids at Lowe's
Today I took my two-year-old son to Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic to build a treasure chest. Lowe's holds these free clinics about every two weeks. We had so much fun in the hour we were there and it didn't cost me a cent.
We entered the class-room and they have everything set up for you. We took our seat and on the table was a piece of plywood, a small hammer, and the kit. The instructor gave my son his apron and name tape and my son proudly put it on (and didn't take it off for the rest of the day). At this particular clinic, we worked at our own pace. I let him set all the nails and hammer them in as I read the blue-print and found the correct pieces.
When we were done, the instructor gave my son a certificate of completion and a nice patch, similar to the Boy Scouts patches. My wife has sewn on the patch to the apron and my son will wear the apron to all future projects at Lowe's and continue to collect the patches.
Look how happy he is:
I had such a good time and highly recommend this anyone with children ages two and up.
